For Whirlpool Dryer Idler Pulley (Part Number: OEM18031755)

Hello John, The idler with a glide instead of a wheel was an attempt for Whirlpool to cut manufacturing costs and turned out to be a rework. The glides wear belts out prematurely and have to be replaced with an idler wheel assembly WP691366. I strongly recommend replacing the belt so you won't have to go through a tear down again soon to replace the belt 341241. The thumping noise is caused by the wheels 349241T wearing unevenly. Changing them would also avoid a repeat tear down.

Hello Scott. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the idler pulley WP691366 is bad and will need to be replaced. You can check the belt for wear. If there is some, it might be a good idea to replace it as well. Hope this helps.

Tom, Its a easy set up, Look at the base of the dryer, in front of the motor, you'll see two(2) slots formed in the base. With the pulley on top and away from the wall, insert the end of the idler The end of the idler pulley assembly into the slot farthest away from the cabinet wall. the two920 tabs on the bottom of the assembly will insert into the slot closest to the wall and you' can hold it in place until you insert the belt between the pulley and the metal shaft(the belt should be on the bottom side of the pulley in a loop) pull the belt until you can slip it over the drive pulley. Turn the drum 2 or 3 times by hand and slowly, so the belt centers up on the drum. You'll do fine. Thanks and Good Luck

Hello Nick! The belt is part number 341241. The idler pulley is part number WP691366. This is a replacement idler pulley and may look different than the original, however, this is the direct replacement and will work on your Whirlpool dryer model LEQ9508LW0. The manufacture offers a maintenance kit for your dryer part number 4392065. This kit contains the pulley, rollers, and the belt for a lesser price. Hope this information helps!
