Hello Darrel, With the impeller being stuck you will want to stick a screwdriver in the side of the impeller and carefully try to remove the screw holding the impeller in place.

John for Model Number MDB4100AWW

My dishwasher (MDB4100AWW) started to make noise. Found the bottom plate on the pump discharge housing came loose. Replaced the impeller and pump discharge housing. Could not get the old impeller off. Had to break it into pieces to remove. New impeller did not want to go down on the pump shaft. After soaping the opening I managed to push it on. After starting up the washer the motor jammed. Found the impeller hit the pump housing plate above it. Assume it wasn't all the way down or crooked. So ordering yet another impeller and pump discharge housing. Is there some trick to installing the impeller? One side of the shaft is a little rough. Might file it a little. I put the o-ring under the impeller and the o-ring in the screw that holds down the impeller. Don't want to do this a third time.

John, We'll be sending you some basic information on repair to the pump assembly. You may want or need to remove the burrs or rust from the motor shaft, but use a few drops of penetrating oil to assist in the clean up. We also reccomend you install the impeller repair kit WP6-915435 vs just the impeller.

Hello Eric. No, you can remove the impeller WP99002069 from inside the dishwasher. You will need to remove the lower spray arm, filter, pump filter, Rinse arm assembly, Discharge housing nut, Wahs arm support, and the discharge housing assembly to access and remove the screw and impeller. Hope this helps.
