Kevin, This knob is a screw on type knob and is supposed to have the insert in it. You will want to make sure that when the old knob broke that the sleeve from the old knob is off the shaft of the timer.

Durk, Unfortunately this knob is the direct replacement part according to the manufacturer. We would not have any other information on it.

Hello Carolyn, Disconnect the power from the machine before beginning dis-assembly. The two screws below the control panel at each end will need to be removed and the control panel will pull forward and flip up to access the components, (the unit may need to be pulled away from the wall a bit to allow timer access. The timer 3356057 will be held in place by 1/4" hex headed screws, (one or more depending on the model). The old knob W10801656 and dial WP64138 can be re-used if the shaft can be removed from the old one. I'm sorry but the timer 3356057 has been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. This is not a serviceable part so no parts, (like the knob shaft), are available.
