Mike August 13, 2015 for Model Number GLT3057RQ02 I am converting my whirlpool stove top over to LP. Can you help with the sizes needed? I have a burner that puts out 11,000 BTUs, one that puts out 9,100 BTUs, and 2 that put out 5000BTUs. thanks. mike.
Pam August 09, 2015 for Model Number GLT3057RQ02 we purchased the orfices to change our Whirlpool Cooktop GLT3057RQ02 from natural gas to LP- however, they are color coded and we cannot find any instructions as to which color goes to which burner-can you help? Thank you
1 Answer Pam The colors and the numbers engraved on the side of the orifice refer to the size of the opening, which corresponds to a specific BTU rating of each burner. Your range has three different sized burners and they need to be installed in the proper location. So: The one(1) All Brass orifice (65mm) is for the oven, the broil burner to be exact. The two(2) Black ringed orifices (67mm)will be installed in the right front and the left rear burners. The one(1)Blue ringed orifice(95mm) will be installed in the right rear burner. and the Green ringed orifice(1.05mm) will be installed in the left front burner. The oven bake burner orifice will need to be adjusted. using a 1/2 inch open end wrench, you'll need to turn the orifice hood on the safety valve 2 to 2 1/2 revolutions down(clockwise) to lower the orifice onto the internal LP pin inside the valve. Don't forget, you'll need to remove the "cap" on the regulator and "flip" the cap so that the LP mark is facing up. Also make sure you label the Nat gas orifices and set them aside in a safe place on the range, so you can have them handy, should you have to convert the range back to Nat gas. Read More...
