Gina, With the lights on the display lighting up but no response from the keys when you touch the buttons the issue would most likely be a faulty control board. The part number for the control board is WP22004299.

David for Model Number mah5500bwq

Door latch will not lock, screen says do and FL. Went into service mode and checked manual door lock and unlock. Unit was sending pulse every 2 seconds as manual says. Took off lid and looked at locking acuator and did the same test again and it was trying to move but looks like solenoid could be the problem(the part below the manual release). Do I assume the input and output boards are working and just need a new door latch assembly? and if so witch one, the part compatability says both will work? thank you

Hello Brenda, The door switch assembly that I show to be correct is WP8182634. If you need the door lever, WP34001260 shows to be the correct one for the model number you listed.

Rob, Yes the "FL" code in the display indicates the door lock has failed to lock the door after 11 attempts. "The door fails to lock - Will display "FL" - Check for: Faulty door lock solenoid* Loose wire connections* Faulty door lock switch* Faulty door lock sense switch* Bad control. " As long as there's no issue with the control board replacing the lock assembly should solve your issue.

Chris, Yes, both versions of the latch assembly WP22004435 (series B4 and after) and WP22003593 (series 10 thru B3) have the micro switches installed on the assembly. You'll want to also check the door assembly and make sure the alignment is correct and the lock loop is aligned to the latch opening and not causing the latch to "hang up".
