Warren April 20, 2020 for Model Number 66515987990 Water was leaking out bottom of door so I bought bottom gasket kit and installed it. Water still leaked but while starting up I noticed the door kicked back a little and door leaked again. I drained unit and checked latch, everything looked alright. I started unit back up and after filling and pressure kicked in I held door tight and low and behold no leak, I let go of door and it seemed to stay shut due to vacuum. Is there any adjustment to this latch. What do you suggest. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Warren, the latch does not allow any adjustments, the latch part WP3380654 has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available. Read More...
Russell C. March 03, 2015 for Model Number kudq25shbl1 Part #AP3045026, took latch off but gasket tore off of cover. Will a new latch have a gasket? Thank you.
1 Answer Russell, I believe your model should read KUDG25SHBL1 (KUDG instead of KUDQ). The seal needed is part number 9743806. Unfortunately, this item has been discontinued with no further replacements or cross references available and our company is unaware of any other available sources. Sorry about that! Read More...
Edward October 19, 2013 for Model Number KUDV24SEBL5 I replaced the control panel and handle because they were broken. When I replaced them and turned the power back on the open door display came on and would not go off. I replaced the door latch with microswitch and it still displays open door. I am not sure what else to do. It was working fine before the handle broke.
1 Answer Edward, You will want to make sure that the ribbon harness from the control panel to the control board has a good firm seating. If this checks ok and with the new latch assembly then the issue would most likely be caused by the control board. Read More...
Peter F. June 08, 2013 for Model Number KitchenAid Dishwasher Hello, I replaced the latch on my dishwasher, but the door still pops open, especially during the sani-rinse cycle. Is the hot water causing the latch to release or is it something else? I bought the strike as well but did not install it. Do you think that will help, and if so can you supply installation instructions? Thank you very much, Peter Frosini
1 Answer Peter, without a model and serial number, it'll be a bit difficult to advise you properly. There are several "revised" door strikes and latches over the years. You will need to partially remove the dishwasher to access the top tub support frame and replace the strike. There are several other "general" checks to make as well. Make sure the door and back wall of the tub are not "bowed" in or out. check and make sure the racks are back and as deep as possible, so the ends of the tracks are behind the door opening ridge. The dishwasher is properly leveled and installed to the cabinet, so the tub and door align and seal properly. Yes, excessively hot water (170 dgrs +) can cause the dishwasher door to open from the pressure produced in the tub. Make sure the initial fill water temperature is 120 to 130 dgrs.F. The sani cycle rinse should increase the water temperature to 150 dgrs. and hold it there for a pre set amount of time. Read More...
