Earl November 20, 2013 for Model Number GHW9200LQO Whirlpool Duet Washer I stupidly pushed the lock mechanism into the closed position with the tip of a screw driver and the door is open. Now I can't get it to unlock even if I unplug the washer. Is there a manual way to open it?

Doug November 19, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool Front Loader- GHW9100LW2 Hi, I am replacing the door switch assembly for my washer. part number AP3837611. I am trying to find good directions on how to do this. In one post you mention 'remove the cable off the front of the boot'. Could you clarify what the 'cable' and 'boot' are , and a little more detail? Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Doug, The door boot is the gasket between the front panel and the outer tub assembly. It is removed from the front panel and you can then reach through the opening to access the door lock assembly. The cable is used as a clamp to hold the door boot on. Read More...
Diane November 19, 2013 for Model Number GHW9200LW My whirlpool duet washer will not lock, therefore will not start. I checked the lock solenoid on the CPU and one measured 60ohms and the other 148 ohms. Both are supposed to measure 60 ohms. Does this mean I need a new CPU or should I order a door lock/switch assembly?
1 Answer Hello Diane. Make sure the wiring harness is good and if so, you need to order and replace the door lock assembly on the unit. Read More...

George A. October 19, 2013 for Model Number Kitchen Aid KHWS01PMT3 I have a front loading washer that seems to give random errors if it isn't in a good mood. Most of the time it works fine, however. Recently it has refused to lock and the FdL error appears. At first it would sometimes work by unplugging and plugging it back in but now it shows the error always. I purchased the part 8182634 Door Switch Assembly and replaced the old one. Based on some of the responses here, I felt it was a good bet. I was wrong. It has not helped at all. The error code continues. Any ideas? Thanks
1 Answer George, Since you've replaced the lock assembly, you'll need to check the wiring harness between the latch assembly WP8182634 and the CCU WPW10137702 especially the connectors at the CCU. If all's Ok, check and make sure the outlet is, 120 VAC, polarized and grounded and replace the CCU. Read More...
