The Door Switch Assembly is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. This assembly detects whether the washer door is open or closed, allowing the machine to start or stop the washing cycle accordingly.

Causes of a bad door switch assembly can include wear and tear from frequent use, damage from forceful closing of the door, or electrical issues. A malfunctioning switch can prevent the washer from recognizing a closed door, thus hindering the start of the wash cycle or causing it to stop unexpectedly.

Symptoms of a bad Door Switch Assembly include:

  • Washer not starting or stopping mid-cycle
  • Error codes indicating door issues
  • Washer not spinning or agitating
  • Door lock mechanism not engaging or disengaging properly

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

For Whirlpool Door Switch Assembly (Part Number: OEM18035460)

Jerry S for Model Number Whirlpool Duet Washer Model GHW9400PW0

I have had a problem for a while where I get a door lock error dl and F. I have been putting up with this for some time now where I try opening and closing the door, unplugging and plugging it back in, I even have resorted to banging on the top right and it starts, based on a report I read. A couple weeks ago while it was in a spin cycle, it got out of balanced and the door broke open breaking the latch. I have been taping the door shut and it works, now it will not finish cycles. It stops in the wash cycle, it stops in the rinse cycle and stops in the spin cycle. Helps

Jack, Presumably you had a "DU" or "DL" error code. There is a possibility that the damaged door latch assembly could have damaged the CCU, but it's not as common on this model washer as the wholesaler suggested. You do want to recheck and make sure all the wiring harness connectors are properly seated in the board connectors and routed properly through the cabinet. Also check and make sure the door and door strike are properly aligned and engaging the latch assembly properly to the front panel, before you replace the CCU WP8182689.

Tommy, These error codes are both the same and represent an door lock error. You will want to check the wire harness and the connections. If these check ok then most likely the door switch assembly is faulty and needs to be replaced.

Georgia, The F11 error code is a motor control failure: The Motor Control Unit has internal failure. If failure occurs during high-speed spin the door unlocks after 3 minutes. This error code is only shown in Diagnostic test. Possible Causes/Procedure - Verify the shipping system including shipping bolts and spacers are removed, and power cord out of the unit. - Check if washer is on a dedicated circuit. Other devices on same circuit can create line noise and cause this issue. - Un plug washer or disconnect power - Check the neutral feed to the MCU and CCU from the AC line filter. - Check allwire harness connections between the Motor & MCU, and MCU to CCU, are not broken orwires detached and connector internal pins are visible. - Make sure that all the connectors are fully seated. - Plug inwasher or reconnect power cord. - Verify the unit operation by running the Diagnostic Test cycle. See page 5. - After the diagnostic test has finished, unplugwasher or disconnect power cord andwait for 15 seconds.

Walter, You will want to check to make sure that the drain is not clogged up. If the drain is slow or clogged it will cause the unit to not go into the spin cycle. Also check to make sure that the door lock assembly is good. An intermittent door lock will cause no spin issue.

Hello Dixie. Unplug the unit. Remove the pressure switch hose and blow through the hose. Once the chamber is clear, if the code continues, replace the pressure switch. If it is still there, then the board will have to be replaced.

Hello Maria. First thing to check is the wiring harness. Last thing to replace is the board. Most likely bad connection on the wiring of the unit or a bad wire.

CW, The "LE" code in the display would indicate and issue in the water level, you'd want to check the water level sensor switch DC97-03716C, Remove and blow into the tube to make sure it's not clogged with sediment or debris and has an air tight fit at the switch and tub connection. Then consider the control board if all else checks OK.
