Lane, The lights being on, tells you they are working and properly installed. They won't turn off, and that may be due to a shorted wire to the receptacles, or a faulty circuit in the key pad assembly 4359477.

Hello Kenneth, Remove the unit from the power supply. Then use a pair of needle nosed pliers to grasp the edge of the metal part of the old bulb. If you grasp it deep enough and twist the pliers, the bulbs' threaded part will wrap around the needle nosed pliers and come out of the socket. Be very careful removing it from the needle nosed pliers so you do not get cut. I usually use another pair of pliers to grasp the metal and untwist it from the needle nosed pliers. This way you don't even have to touch it so getting cut isn't even an issue.

Diane for Model Number MH6140XKQ1

I'm having problems finding a replacement bulb for my microwave. The new bulb that I bought fits in the socket but does not respond to the Low, High and Off commands of my microwave. The bulb stays lighted all the time. My microwave Serial # is FGL4304574, and I purchased it in 2001. The microwave works great, but not having a light to shine on my cooktop is a problem and I have not been able to locate a bulb at any of the local home improvement, hardware or lighting stores.

Hello Tony. Unplug the unit. Then use a carrot. Cut it to fit into the bulb base and press in and back the base out of the socket. Then there is no damage done to the unit.
