Jeff February 06, 2020 for Model Number ed5rhgxmq10 The light in my fridge went out. I tried replacing the light bulb (40) watt but it still doesn't work. I'm guessing the light bulb socket shorted out. Went to your website to order the socket. I entered the model number and I was going to order what I thought was the correct part number but it is telling me that is the incorrect part for this particular fridge. Can you supply me with the correct part number for the light bulb socket please? Thank you
1 Answer Jeff, the socket 4387478 should work properly for your model based on the manufacturer's information. Read More...
Brian June 11, 2019 for Model Number GS2SHEXNS00 A regular 40 watt bulb does not work however I put a regular led bulb in and it works, but it hums and when I push the switch in the bulb glows softly. The led bulbs does not go out completely. Would this be the socket or something more serious?
1 Answer Brian, I don't think the socket would cause this issue, it sounds more like your switch is not completely breaking the circuit. Based on the model provided our part number for this door light switch is {AP6005274} Read More...

Pam May 20, 2015 for Model Number TT18TKXSB01 My bulb burned out of the refrigerator, I put in a new bulb and the bulb burned out immediately. Thought it was the bulb but a second bulb did the same thing. Do you think it would be in the socket or something more?
1 Answer Pam, You do have to be careful installing the light bulb into the socket, you can't over tighten the bulb or twist the socket or you'll create a problem. A new socket 4387478 and bulb 8009 may be a good idea. You also want to make sure there is no water or heavy condensation inside the control panel assembly. Read More...

Todd March 31, 2013 for Model Number GD5RHAXNB00 The refrigerator side light went out. I replaced the bulb but still doesn't work. The light on the freezer side as well as the light on the dispenser all work. I tested the bulb to ensure that it is good. How can I tell if the problem is the door switch or the light unit? How should I proceed? Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Todd. If you remove the light switch from the unit, you can test it for continuity. With the switch pressed, it should read closed and with the switch open, it should read open. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Tom R November 04, 2012 for Model Number AP3108436 Top two unit refrigerator side light bulbs both burned out within a month of each other. I replaced both with the correct brand new Phillips 40 watt bulbs but they will not light up. Please advise what possibly could be wrong. The door switch does work because the bottom light on the fridge side does come on.
1 Answer Hello Tom, It is a possibility that the bulbs are not in all the way. When you turn the bulb on these they come to a stopping point. You then have to give them an extra twist to get them past the contact and allow them to come on. We will need your model number to help you with this. Please post your model number with a new question on the parts page. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx Read More...
