John February 19, 2019 for Model Number WRS325FDAB06 I have read most of the posts concerning the light issue and have the same problem with my 2 year old whirlpool , but I need to clarify some things. I have a dim led top refrig light, and no freezer light. I have tried the reboot process with no success. Do I need the refrig. Led light module or defrost control board. If the light module, how does this part come off easily without forcing the plastic tabs that seem to be holding it in place. If defrost module, is this located at back bottom of unit? -thanks in advance
1 Answer John, the issue is going to be with the LED lights. You will want to test the freezer light to see if it is receiving 11 to 14 VDC by testing the yellow/red wire with the red probe of the meter to the grey wire with the black probe. Kirk February 17, 2019 for Model Number Whirlpool model WRS325FDAM04 LED Light in my Freezer is completely out. The refrigerator LED lights are both dim. There is no flashing going on at this moment. So would this mean that the freezer is the main control LED light and it has gone bad? Is there any drawings that show the components and part numbers for this model as well?

Jim January 09, 2019 for Model Number 106.51139210 I have a kenmore with a faulty W10515058 light unit, hence strobing effect. I feel a bit odd asking this question on a parts site, but you seem quite knowledgeable about these refrigerators. As a customer it is more than enraging to find that a replacement light costs over 1/10 the price I paid for the fridge and they have a track record of just going bad again. Nothing against the parts you provide, more frustration against whirlpool engineers. Is there possibility of dumbing down the light system here? Maybe a retrofit part that jumps the two cables in the top of the fridge to provide power to the remaining lights and has a simpler led in parallel?

Will December 09, 2018 for Model Number WRS325FDAM02 The lights on the fridge side and freezer side both blink rapidly like a strobe light and they both blink at the same sequence like together, I had read that this was a problem with the light on the fridge side and they said to unplug and plug in the light on the non freezer side several times and it should fix the problem but it only works until the door is closed and repopend then they both go back to blinking again so will replacing the light on the fridge side fix it

Based on what I have read so far it appears that the light in the fridge powers the light in the freezer. Is there any way to test that versus a faulty switch that could not be triggering the light? Danny November 12, 2018 I have a Whirlpool Side by Side Refrigerator Freezer that we bought new in August of 2017. The Model number is WRS322FDAM04. The light has stopped working in the freezer section and the lights in the refrigerator work but the top one is dim. From what I have read online, it may be the switch at the top of the Freezer that presses in as the door is close and opened. What do you think? I noticed the light is very expensive and the switch can be bought for 8 to 12 dollars. I do NOT have an extended warranty, who would have thought the components would start breaking down in the second year! Some said to take the switch out and test it with a meter, but I was concerned about breaking it trying to take it out due to it being made of plastic. How is the best way to remove it to check it?
