For Whirlpool Refrigerator Led Light Assembly (Part Number: OEM18067611)

Martha for Model Number WRS325FDAB06

We have had our side-by-side freezer light not working at all, and our refrigerator side top light very dim, for a while. I foolishly bought a freezer light assembly on eBay, installed it and, for two days, both refrigerator and freezer were super bright. But then both went black. If we buy this freezer side LED light assembly, will the refrigerator side go back to full brightness? And, if it blows out the refrigerator side like the eBay one did, is it returnable?

1 Answer

Hello Martha, thanks for contacting AppliancePartsPros.com It is likely that all 3 LED modules, 1 WPW10515057 LED in the freezer, 1 WPW10515057 LED on the wall in the refrigerator, and 1 WPW10515058 in the top of the refrigerator, will need to be replaced. These modules are run in series, sometimes when you have 1 go out it will weaken 1 or both of the others and they then all fail together. Once the part has been installed it is not returnable for a refund.

Cheryl, Thank you for your question. With the refrigerator leds going out, it will most likely not be with the LED in the refrigerator. This will most likely be an issue with the freezer LED Module WPW10515057.

Hello Tim, usually the LED light module in the freezer if out, dim, or flashing will cause problems with the 2 Ref LED light modules as they are wired on a series power circuit, the Freezer LED module is part WPW10515057.

Vijay, Start with the one in the freezer and after it is replaced if the others are still dim they would need to be replaced as well.

Greetings! Hoping for some diagnostic help to determine which LED module(s) to replace. Currently, freezer is out, fridge modules are dim. If I use the water dispenser with fridge door open, fridge lights will come on full brightness when you release the dispenser switch. Close fridge door and reopen, lights back to dim. No freezer lights no matter what. Not getting any strobing, but am seeing a brief flicker right when door opens. Thanks in advance for your help.

Michael, If you replace the freezer LED's this will take care of the issues that you are having with the lights.

Stephanie for Model Number WRS325FDAM02

Lights in refrigerator ceiling, behind drawers and freezer are all strobing in unison. Refrigerator ceiling started first by turning on and off, I would tap it then it worked for a while. After sometime it started flashing then the one behind the drawer and freezer now all flash consistently at the same time. From what I'm reading with my model, there is a chance I only have to buy the main ceiling one and that may stop them all from flashing, or do all three need to be replaced? Thanks!

1 Answer

Stephanie, The problem will probably be the led light in the ceiling of the refrigerator. That module has 120 VAC coming in and converts to a DC voltage to the other lights. We will also send you a tech sheet for testing the lights.WPW10515058

Gary, with the freezer door switch taped down, the freezer LED WPW10515057 can be removed and a jumper wire put in place of it. The refrigerator door can then be opened to identify if the lights turn on properly. If they do, the freezer LED has failed and would need to be replaced. If the lights do not turn on properly, the next step would be to remove the top LED to test for 12VDC from the red wire to the yellow and red wire. If there is voltage, the lower refrigerator LED WPW10515057 has failed. If there is not voltage, the upper LED WPW10515058 has failed.
