Tom November 17, 2011 for Model Number Cooktop RC8900XABO "I just ask Q... about a cooktop module (part# AP4242040) to insert into my RC8900XABO cooktop. My original module has a 4 blade connector. You said I can NOT rewire anything to make the 3 blade module work... does that mean I should not have purchased the AP4242040 module from your parst department??

Tom November 17, 2011 for Model Number RC8900XABO Whirlpool Cooktop I just purchased a cooktop module (part# AP4242040) to insert into my RC8900XABO cooktop. My original module has a 4 blade connector. I understand the new one I ordered uses only 3 blades of the connector (4th not used). Will the 3 blade module work in the older cooktop or will I be required to rewire something? If so I need instructions on the rewire and wiring diagram. I also purchased a AP4292626 replacement terminal block in case I need it.
1 Answer Hello Tom. There is no way of wiring the 4 prong terminal block to work with the three prong cartridge. The 4 prong has been discontinued and is no longer available. Sorry. Read More...
