Clint H. May 26, 2011 for Model Number AGM499W I am doing research from my mother in law and she has a Speed Queen gas dryer that needs a motor. I have a whirlpool electric dryer with a brand new motor that doesn't heat any more. She is going to give me her current electric dryer if my motor will work on her Speed Queen dryer. My question to you is what is the difference between the two motors. I researched and found that the parts don't cross reference each other. Here are the model numbers for both: Speed Queen - AGM499W ; Whirlpool - LE4440XWW0. Please let me know the differences and if they will remotely work. Judging by the pictures you have posted on your website they are identical but I guess I need to know things like voltage, hp, etc. Thanks for your help!!!

Whirlpool model LE4440XWW0 Motor Part number AP3094245: 1/3 SPL H.P, 120V, 60HZ, 6.5 AMPS, model S58NXNBG-7091 As the motors do look very similar, the pulleys are different and we will not be able to recommend using a Whirlpool motor in a Speed Queen product since the motors do not cross reference with one another. Dumpy Dutchman May 17, 2011 for Model Number ALE230RAW / PALE230RAW On the motor there is a switch assembly that all the wires hook too (Bakelite). Can I Just purchase this piece ? Water has gotten into it making contacts not work properly but the motor still works fine. If I can purchase that piece what is the part #. Thanks

Mr. M April 29, 2011 for Model Number ALG643RBW Dryer was making a lot noise. I replaced drum rollers, idler pulley, belt and front glides and cleaned out fan blower blades. As dryer heats up it starts to vibrate and gets very noisey. If I turn off the heat the noise will go away in a few minutes as it cools down. Any ideas?

Frank April 23, 2011 for Model Number Motor P/N 501211 I assume that in order to replace my siezed up motor I must first remove the blower wheel. I have unthreaded (in a counterclockwise direction) the blower wheel to a point and it doesn't seem to want to unthread any further. What am I missing?

It appers that now I have to replce the motor just because the thread of its shaft is chewed up along with its pulley's threads! Something is wrong with its design since the motor runs in one only one direction and now I have to replace the motor because its shaft threads are messed up! I cannot see why?
1 Answer Anupam, Apparently something damaged your motor shaft and pulley? The pulley is not available as a separarte part, and you'll need to order the complete motor assembly. As for the blower wheel end of the shaft, the threads shouldn't get damaged at all. The blower wheel threads would totally enclose the threads, as the blower wheel is a reverse thread bolt on assembly. This "system" has been in existance and used for numerous years. Thanks!
