Paul November 14, 2011 for Model Number LGA50AW my gas dryer run for about 3 minutes and shutoff by its self, with the heat setting on no heat setting. going to attempt to replace the motor, idle lever assembly, and belt, since I have it all apart. one of the first things that started to happen was loud noise, relaced the drum guide, but would never run long enough to dry towels after that, please tell me I'm going to do the right thing.

Frank October 26, 2011 for Model Number WED5100VQ1 Have an issue where when you turn the timer knob and start the dryer the heating element comes on but the motor doesn't respond. On top of that, the heating element will come on when anywhere but the "off" setting even when start switch is not depressed. Tried replacing timer and start switch to no avail. Any ideas? 1 Answer Hello Frank. You will need to check and see if the heater 279838 is grounded out on the unit. If so, you will need to replace the heater and test the thermal fuse WP3392519 and see if it has blown the fuse. This will prevent the dryer motor from running. Amber July 14, 2011 for Model Number ADE7005AYW Recently, my dryer had been making a horrible squealing noise when it was running, and then the drum stopped turning during cycle. We replaced the motor (because the pulley was bad) and the belt. When in use, it's much louder now than before. Now on its fourth use, I can hear some slight squealing beginning. Wondering what we should look at next?
1 Answer Hi Amber. The belt tension er will also make a squealing noise if the pulley is worn on the shaft (very common). This part # is WP37001287. Also, the drum tumbler wheels (epically by the heat canister) will squeal when they go bad , along with the shaft wearing out. The drum roller part # is WP37001042. The shaft part # is WP40113601. My dryer makes a loud vibration noise after the heated cycle runs a few minutes, and the noise comes from the blower area. The noise does not happen during a non-heat cycle. Does the blower start after it senses a certain temperature. If I buy a replacement motor, can I reuse all the other parts such as blower wheel, idler pully, etc?
1 Answer Mike, Sounds like a bad blower wheel, or heat expansion issue. I doubt you need a motor. The blower wheel could be loose on the drive hub 56000 ,or something in or on the vanes, check the idler pulley,arm and belt for wear and tear. You'll also need to investigate the heater flue/inlet and associated parts for an expansion "rattle". But, no the motor/blower assembly does not have a clutch system. Good Luck. Read More...

My dryer starts to make a bad vibrational noise in the vicinity of the blower after running a heated cycle for about 5 minutes. I thoroughly cleaned the blower area. The noise goes away when running in a no-heat cycle. Can I just replace the motor and still reuse all other old parts to correct the blower issue?
