Home Hacker Mechanic April 14, 2020 for Model Number Whirpool WFW9150WW00 Our washer just started to make a shrill noise while in the spin cycle. It sounds like a bearing going out to me. Is there a r replaceable bering in the drive system or motor, or does the motor have to be replaced? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello HHM, that noise is usually from the rear tub spin bearings, the manufacturer sells that assembly as part W11239040. Read More...
Jimmy August 20, 2017 for Model Number ap6016246 I would like know how to determinate the motor is broken (failure) ? is there any way that we can use a meter to check it? thanks!
1 Answer Hello Jimmy! You'll want to test from pin 1 to 2, 2 to 3 and 1 to 3; looking for 6 ohms or matching readings. If one is either too high or low you have a bad winding and will need to replace the motor part number WPW10171902. You'll also want to test the tach sensor at pin 4 to 5 looking for 115- 120 ohms. Hope this helps! Read More...
Ken April 18, 2016 for Model Number MHWE200XW00 My washer is showing no error codes but stopped with 1 minute left in cycle. door was stuck locked. I manually released door checked again for codes but only showed 88. I ran it again empty through a normal wash everything seemed to work except the motor would not run. It went through all cycles without the motor running at all and stopped again with 6 minutes left before the end of the cycle and door is locked. Any suggestions ? I think the motor is bad since it is not running and all wired appear to be connected properly. I haven't checked the ohms yet across the motor but thought someone with experience may have seen this before. Thanks !
1 Answer Ken, With this issue it would be more likely that the main control board is faulty. If there was an error with the motor or motor control there would be an error and the unit would stop according to the error. The fact the unit is going through the entire cycle and the motor never moves then the main control board is seeing the movement even if though it is not. Read More...
Joel December 30, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool WFW9050XW My washer has been making a groaning sound in the rinse and drain and drain and spin cycles for a while now. It has just thrown a F7E1 error code and stops when in the wash cycle if it has clothes in the tub. When empty it will go through all cycles (and still groans), but it seems as if the tub doesn't turn as fast as it should while spinning. Given that it completes the entire wash cycle with no load I am inclined to point to the motor as the culprit. The washer is a little over two years old and I don't know whether though pitch it and buy new or repair it and take a chance that it will happen again in the near future as I have heard this is a common issue with these washers. Thoughts? Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Joel, The fault code F7E1 is a DRIVE MOTOR TACHOMETER ERROR. If the control is unable to properly detect motor speed, the washer shuts down. If a failure occurs during high-speed spin, the door unlocks after 3 minutes. Possible Causes/Procedure: Verify that the shipping system, including shipping bolts and spacers, are removed, and that the power cord is out of the washer. Unplug washer or disconnect power. Make sure that all wire harness connections between the Motor & MCU, and MCU to CCU are not broken or with wires detached, and that connector internal pins are visible. Check continuity from the main motor to the motor control (MCU) and MCU to the CCU (MS2, MI3 cavities). If the continuity diagnosis failed, Main Harness must be replaced. - Check the resistance of main Motor. Check the resistance of the Tachometer. Make sure that the motor connector is assembled correctly. Plug in washer or reconnect power. Verify the washer operation by running the Diagnostic Test cycle. After the diagnostic test has finished, unplug washer or disconnect power and wait for 15 seconds. It is also a good idea to check the sump area for debris. Read More...
Kok December 10, 2013 Hi, I am looking for the specification or manual of a motor, W10171902, made by Whirlpool. I want to obtain its torque speed, power, and etc. I do not have the model number because this is a school project and we only plan to buy the motor. Does the manual of a washer which used this specific motor have these information? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Kok. Sorry, only the manufacturer will have that information. We do not have it. Thank you. Read More...
