Dh August 09, 2020 for Model Number LER3634EW2 With timer set at any run position, motor does not run but does hum and heating element on when set to position which requires heat. Shuts off when door opened but comes on again when closed. Start switch breaks continuity OK. Drum will turn by hand, Belt OK. Motor will run with no load and a spin. So the motor is bad, but why the other problem? Bad timer too?
1 Answer Hello DH, the drive motor has a faulty centrifugal switch, it is part of the drive motor assembly 279827. Read More...
Jaimi April 25, 2020 I’m trying to install the dryer switch and didn’t take a picture of the wiring patter for the new one. I’m not sure if the red/white one goes on top or the black one goes on top. It’s for part number 3395385. I’ve looked for the wiring patter and have had no luck can you please help.
1 Answer Jaimi, This is a 2 wire switch and would not matter which wire goes to which location. Read More...

Sam May 03, 2018 for Model Number 70 series dryer 66712 My dryer will not start. when I set the timer it counts down and stops when I open the door. I tested for power ans I have 220 v. I opened the back of the control panel . There was power to the start button. prt 3395385 I removed it and used an ohm meter to test it. terminals with the white and red wires and black have continuity when pressed.the terminals with the brownish wires have no continuity when button pressed or when released. I suspect the switch. what is your opinion? thanks for your time
1 Answer Hello Sam. Make sure the belt is not broke and the door switch and thermal fuse are good in the unit. Thank you. Read More...
Jim December 20, 2017 for Model Number LGR5636EQ3 Push to start switch was bad so I replaced it. But i forgot to note the position of the wires on the left side. Which goes where? This is a 4 prong switch with the two terminals on the right oriented in a vertical manner that receive one plastic block with two blue wires for the timer. The two other terminals on the left are oriented horizontally one over the other. They receive a black wire and one red/white wire. Does it matter if they are reversed and can it damage the switch if they are in the wrong position or will the dryer simply not turn on. The wiring diagram does not detail the wiring position for the actual switch.
1 Answer Jim. It should not matter which wire goes to which terminal on the push to start switch. Read More...

Bill January 09, 2017 for Model Number Kenmore Dryer Model 110.78522700 Original Push to Start Switch has two red&white wires connected to upper left back of push to start switch but my replacement switch, part no. 3395385 only has a place for one wire to connect at upper left of switch. Which of the two red and white wires do I use to connect to the switch. One of the red and white wires goes to my cycle control knob while the other red and white wire runs down into the drum area of the machine. Thanks for your reply.
1 Answer Bill, Both wires will need to attach to the push to start switch terminals. The black wire will attach to the common terminal, and the red/white wires will attach to the two terminals that have a "closed" circuit when the button is pushed (you'll need to test the circuit with a multi meter or test light). You should have one (1) empty terminal on the switch when you're done and wired correctly. Read More...
George November 12, 2015 When pushing in the start button of our gas dryer it makes a loud noise like the sound of the buzzer. The drum will turn but noise seems to persist. Is it just the start switch? Thanks
1 Answer Hello George. It sounds like the timer or buzzer may be bad. If you press the switch and the unit runs, but continues to buzz, it is likely the timer on the unit if the timer contains the buzzer. Read More...
Melissa October 06, 2015 for Model Number kenmore series 70 bought in 2008 The dryer stops but the buzzer continues buzzing until I open the door. If I don't open the door the timer continues to the next cycle I do still have heat.
1 Answer Hello Melissa, I'm sorry but we will need the model number from the units' I.D. tag so we can pull the wiring diagram. This could be the centrifugal switch in the motor, a bad timer, or a harness issue. Read More...
