Margo, The W10811164 / W10811164 Control Panel, is the correct part to order and install on the model dishwasher you supplied [MDB7749SBB1]. The part is in stock and available at this time. Removal of the control touch panel. You mention removing the inner screws----are those the side screws one on each side that hold a metal bracket with the control panel or do you mean the screws on the sides of the door that hold the large door panel. Also the panel W1o811164 has a series of white wires with a connector on each end which include the connection to control board. Is it necessary to replace that double sided connector or just plug the new touchpad connector to the old white connector

1 Answer

Skip, You may want to remove the outer door panel (as a precaution) it could get scratched or damaged in the process. But you need to remove power to the dishwasher, Open the dishwasher door and Remove the six (6) screws securing the control panel to the door frame(2 screws on each side at the top and the two screws across the top). The control panel will now drop down and be free of the door assembly. The wiring harness will remain connected to the console components.Disconnect the ribbon connector and the wiring harness connectors from the electronic control board. Use a flat bladed screwdriver to depress the holding tabs at the left end of the control board assembly while pulling up. Reverse the procedure restore power and test the dishwasher.
