Boo Boo July 10, 2013 for Model Number MDB4650AWW How can I tell if it's the control panel or the control board that needs to be replaced? About a year ago, some of the cycles and options were no longer available. However, a few days ago, it quit working all together. Some of the lights light up when I try to press the cycle button, but nothing happens when I push start.
1 Answer Boo Boo, We're pretty sure you have several key pads that have failed on the control panel 6-919090. The basic procedure, is to conduct the Manual Function Test and the Field Service Test. You could also remove the panel and test each key pad circuit with a multi meter, as well You'll need to remove the lower kick plate panel, and the tech data information sheet should be attached to the backside of the panel, in a plastic bag. Bill H March 27, 2013 for Model Number MDC4650AWW I did the manual function test and field service test. no response only some of the LEDs light when pushed, strangely the "normal" wash cycle LED does not light in any mode. All resistance checks were in normal range. I did not check the ohmic values on the control pad....i just could not hold the test leads in place and push the buttons....silly me.

Patrick April 17, 2012 for Model Number mdb4650aww Dishwasher will not start. lights on touch pad/ control panel some will light up. the extra rinse on left and sanitize on left, and the wash type on the right will light up, but the start and delay neither light nor function. I have tried the eraser on the end of the ribbon trick no change. I am trying to do this repair once so I am trying to figure out if it is the control panel or the control board (pcb), Thanks for your help. If you need additional info just let me know. Patrick

1 Answer Hello Dorothy, the control panel 6-919090 comes with the touchpad membrane and panel. The control board is sold separate, the manufacturer offers three different boards. You will have to refer to the first two digits to your serial number, if the first two digits are 10-32 you will order 12002713.
