Bob M. July 23, 2011 for Model Number MDB8951AWW Would a defective door switch keep the start/cancel light from being lit? The door has to be open in-order to push the start buttons. (All of the buttons are on top of the door). Is there any other sensors in the system that would prevent the start of the dishwasher i.e water pressure switch?
1 Answer Hello Bob. It won't prevent the light from working, but can prevent the dishwasher from starting. It sounds like the control panel is the problem. Hope this helps. Read More...

1 Answer Hello Bob. Check the door switches WP99002751 and make sure they are good. If so, you will need to replace the control panel 6-919831. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
