Amy G. September 13, 2011 for Model Number KCMS145JSS-1 Our Kitchenaid Microwave is 6 years old. The push button to open the door is not working, you could hear a spring pop and we were unable to open door. The touchpad was working. We ordered the latch, spring and screw and took to a small appliance repair shop. They are now saying that the entire control panel needs to be replaced. We are trying to determine if this would be expected and what labor it would require. They are charging $125 for part and $100 for labor?
