Dmorrow July 23, 2018 for Model Number YKCMS1555SS1 For this microwave KitchenAid YKCMS1555SS1 the part number W10169302 says it is the SWTCH-MEMB. The buttons on the microwave no longer work, and the entire control panel 8205816 which includes the membrane is no longer available. Is this not what we need to fix this unit? Thankyou!
1 Answer DMorrow, if the buttons on the key pad do not respond to the touch, you would need to replace the membrane, it should peel off of the old plastic control and then place the new membrane on the control. Read More...

J.L.C. March 30, 2015 for Model Number KCMS1555RSS2 I understand that you are no longer providing parts for this upscale microwave? Can that be true? I don't understand; It is not even 9 years old. I have had cheaper microwaves last longer without replacing parts. Now that I have this expensive microwave (which is built in so you cannot just switch out another one easily unless the measurements are the same). I cannot believe that you will not stand behind your product and supply parts.
1 Answer Hello J.L.C., I'm sorry if there are parts you need for your unit that are no longer available. You should contact the manufacturer with this type of complaint since we only sell parts and do not manufacture any appliances or parts. This should explain the statement, " I'm sorry but this part has been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided", that we post on the parts that the manufacturer no longer offers as an available part. Greg April 22, 2014 for Model Number kcms155rss Our door will not open. I took lid off and I see broken part. It's the attachment points for the white lever actuator connects to the front panel. That is attached into two holes on the back of the front panel and one of those holes, or attachment points, broke off the front panel. Do I need to replace the whole front panel assembly (looks like over $170) or can I take the front panel further apart to just replace the plastic piece?
1 Answer Greg, If the connection points on the back of the control panel where the push button goes has broken then you would just need to replace the control panel 8205816. Read More...

Karl October 19, 2013 for Model Number kitchen aid microwave kcms145jws-1 white F-1 code, do I need to replace the control board? thanks
1 Answer Karl, The F-1 would be a caused by a humidity sensor error. You will want to disconnect the sensor fromt he control board and measure the resistance terminal to terminal (using the R x 1000 resistance scale on the meter). The resistance that you should read normally is as follows: Black to red 5.2K ohms, red to white 2.1 Kohms and from black to white 2.1 Kohms. Abnormal reading would be an infinite or several. Sensor cooking condition: the oven should be plugged in at least 5 minutes before using sensor cooking. The room temp should not exceed 95 degrees. Be sure the exterior of the cooking container and interior of the oven are dry. The oven will not generate microwave energy for the first 28 seconds of the sensor cooking cycle. The part number for the sensor is 8184814 Read More...
Rick January 27, 2013 for Model Number KCMS1555RSS Microwave is almost in new condition. But from time to time it locks up. When it does the keys on the control panel do nothing. If I un plug it and repower it clears the problem. Is this a problem with the control panel or is this a bigger problem.
1 Answer Hello Rick, This would be a problem with the keypad on the control panel. You will want to check to make sure that you have a good connection of the ribbon cable to the control board. If the connection is good then you would want to replace the control panel 8205816. Read More...

Amy G. September 14, 2011 In reference to the above questions I am aware that you are a parts only service. My question is if the control panel was working why would it have to be replaced. The explaination from the appliance repair tech is that the latch snapped at the control panel but we clearly heard the spring pop. Therefore, my question is could this be a legitimate repair issue or not. Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Amy. It could break the latch on the panel. If it is broke, you will need to replace the control panel 8205816. Hope this helps. Read More...
