For Whirlpool Ice Machine Pump (Part Number: OEM16852032)

Curtis H for Model Number KUIC15PRXS

Greetings: I seem to be having a problem with my drain pump. I noticed that it doesn't always pump out the water even though the reservoir is full (and the big has water in it). I also noticed that (sometimes) when the pump starts it kills power to the rest of the icemaker (i.e. the light goes out and the LEDs flash). This causes the icemaker reset and start the icemaking cycle again (even when ice is on the evaporator). Does this seem like a drain pump problem? Also, do you guys have instructions (i.e. current KUIC15PRXS service manual) to help me replace the drain pump? thanks. -Curtis

Hello Curtis, There is not a installation guide for installing auxillary drain pump. What you would need to is pull unit out. The auxillary pump will be held in by 2 - 1/4" screws. Remove screws and disconnect the hoses from the auxillary drain and install the new one. The drain pump 1901A will need to be replaced on unit.

Hello David. The pump 1901A should come with instructions on the install. However, you will remove the old drain hose from the unit and install it onto the insert of the pump. Then connect the drain hose from the pump to the drain line. These are not hard to install into the units. Hope this helps.
