Mark August 08, 2014 for Model Number KUIC15NRTS1 I need to ad a pump to convert my Kitchenaid kuic15nrts1 ice machine from gravity drain to pump. Is 1901A the correct and best part to do this? Also, is it a closed system such that if drainage is blocked or pump breaks, the machine will stop making more ice?
1 Answer Hello Mark! Yes, the pump 1901A is the correct add on for your model KUIC15NRTS1. It is a closed system however, it will not shut the unit down if it were to develop a leak. Thanks. Read More...
Stephen June 26, 2014 for Model Number 1901a Follow-up question. In the 1901a kit, there's a 10 foot drain hose included with two black ends on it (pictured on your website.) How do you connect the black end to the drain tube? It seems to fit but you have to manipulate it around the bend on the drain tube on the pump. On the drain side, what's the correct fitting to marry with this? Apologies, I should have asked my question more clearly.
1 Answer Stephen, The unit should have come with clamps that you would use. The hose may have ends that can be cut off if too large and then put the hose clamp around it and tighten it down. Read More...
Stephen June 25, 2014 for Model Number 1901A Can't figure out last step of this process. Drain discharge tube has right angle connection and is smaller than 10 foot drain tube provided in 1901a kit. How do these connect together? Everything worked great up to this point.
1 Answer Hello Stephen, The hoses were not intended to be connected together. The hose shown in the picture is actually not the correct hose. I believe the correct one is W11766555. Since there are no pictures of this part number I can only assume this is the correct part number for the clear hose that should come with the drain pump kit. Read More...
Steve June 10, 2014 for Model Number Drain Pump 1901A for Kitchen Aid Ice Maker I already own the pump. During repair of another part of the unit, the small black piece that screws into the brass fitting (and onto which the drain tube slides on....) snapped off. Can I buy the replacement part for this black screw piece only?
1 Answer Hello Steve, Sorry, they do not offer just parts for these pumps. They only offer them as an assembly. Read More...

Stephen B April 01, 2014 for Model Number 1901A DRAIN PUMP KITCHEN AID ICEMAKER Does this pump have a check valve for a gravity feed. And which side is the check valve on. Whats the max height on the pump. Water keeps backing up out of vent hose. Let me see a diagram if i can. Thank you stephen.
1 Answer Stephen, If the water is backing up into the ice bin part of the unit then the most likely issue will be the drain pump. Unfortunately we do not have a wiring diagram of the drain pump. There is not a check valve on the gravity feed. Read More...

Tom June 01, 2013 for Model Number whirlpool pump 1901A The install instructions that came with the pump are in French. Lol! Where can I get some in English? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Tom, The pump 1901A should have come with instructions on the install in more than one language. However, you will remove the old drain hose from the unit and install it onto the insert of the pump. Then connect the drain hose from the pump to the drain line. These are not hard to install into the units. You could also use the internet to translate the instructions you did receive. Read More...
Vic February 15, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool Ice Maker KUIC18NNXS I'm need to replace my current Marvel water removal pump (tp # 41005044. I'm being told this pump is not available. My question is the Whirlpool 1901a pump a closed system? Meaning if the pump should fail will it a) shut down the ice maker, and, b) not allow the water from the melting ice to leak out the pump sump.
1 Answer Hello Vic, The pump is designed to pump water away from unit to an alternate source when draining. In the event of a failure the pump is designed to shut unit down. The melting ice will go directly to the pump to be pumped out when necessary. Read More...
