Chuck November 16, 2013 for Model Number WDT710PAYMO My Drain pump was not working and getting very hot. I pulled it apart. There was no debris in it. I flushed out the drain hose. It works now but I am concerned that the pump may be going out and want to purchase a spare. The one pictured in your photo has 8 impeller blades. Mine only has 4. Will your Pump AP5691922 still work on my dishwasher? If so I will purchase as a spare. Thanks.
Bob November 12, 2013 for Model Number MDB7749SAM0 Our Maytag MDB7749SAM0 dishwasher has a constant flashing light above the cancel/drain button. There is no standing water in the basin. Unable to reset by disconnecting power. I'm unable to locate the problem. Any Ideas?

Steve October 26, 2013 for Model Number du1300xtvs0 Standing water after it runs wash cycle. I pushed cancel and drain, motor hums and after a few minutes it kicks off and will not discharge water. Is it the drain pump that I need to replace?
1 Answer Hello Steve, If the pump WPW10348269 hasn't got debris in the impeller and there are no clogs in the drain line, the pump will have to be replaced. Read More...
Dell October 12, 2013 for Model Number Whilpool 8575637 The dishwasher worked fine (4+ yrs), then it started not draining before finishing. I suspect it didn't drain properly during reg. cycle as dishes had a film on them when cycle was complete. I (by coincidence) pushed on the drain assembly after setting the cancel/drain setting and the dishwasher would drain. Should I replace the drain assembly or can something else be done to correct the problem? Thank you.
1 Answer Dell, Yes, replace the drain pump WPW10348269 When you remove the assembly, check and make sure there is no debris or sediment inside the drain chamber. Read More...
Jbz400 October 01, 2013 for Model Number Wdf530plyw0 I have standing water in bottom of dishwasher when it is done. I checked for clogged hose it was fine. So put new punp on and same problem. Where do I go from here. Thanks
1 Answer Jbz400, You will want to check your drain line to make sure that it either goes to a airgap or goes up to the bottom of the counter top before coming back down to the drain on the sink. If there is an air gap you will want to make sure that the air gap is not clogged. If the drain line does not go to the bottom of the countertop without an air gap then the unit will back wash water from the drain back to the dishwasher. Read More...

Glenn July 31, 2013 for Model Number du1055xtss3 The drain pump seems bad. Hoses seem clear. Took it out. Manually turning the impeller is very jerky. Bad right?
1 Answer Hello Glenn, Some of these motors will feel "jerky" because they have permanent magnets inside them. The main thing to look for is if the impeller is securely attached to the pump motor shaft. I seriously doubt that the drain pump is bad for this reason. Other than this, you should check the filters in the circulation pump for food particles and debris. The chopper assembly (AP3039186) on these are notorious for breaking and the screen will clog with food particles. Read More...
Pat July 08, 2013 for Model Number 665.13412K701 Do I need to move the dishwasher out of the cabinet to install this part or can I reach it from the bottom? How long should it take to replace this drain pump? Thanks in advance
2 Answers Pat, The unit does not have to be pulled out to replace the drain pump. It makes it easier to replace if it is pulled out and laid on its back. It should take more than 1 hour to replace the part. Read More...

2 Answers Hello Pat, This is not a difficult pump to change. It should be completed in less than 30 minutes. The power should be turned off for the part replacement and the part can be changed with the unit in its' installed position. The toughest part of it is making sure the "O" ring is in position. Be sure to turn the power back on to the unit and let it fill with water before re-installing the kick panel so you can make sure there are no water leaks. Read More...
Larry January 12, 2013 for Model Number KUDE70FVSS0 After using the dishwasher it leaves a small amount of water in the bottom. I have checked the hose for blockage and its hooked up correctly to the drain. We have been using it for 2 years with no problems. I would like to know if there is a check valve in the discharge hose to stop any drain back after it shuts off.
1 Answer Hello Larry, There is no check valve that keeps water from back flowing. You will want to check to make sure that there is nothing in the drain pump that would be restricting the water flow. Read More...
