Denis S May 31, 2015 for Model Number LHW0050PQ0 I see the steps listed for the replacement of the water pump for a Whirlpool washer LHW0050PQ4. Would the steps be the same for model LHW0050PQ0? (Unsure if the last digit of the model number makes any difference.) Also, do you recommend replacing the hose clamps when doing this job? Thanks.
1 Answer Denis S., Yes the steps for replacing the pump on the LHW0050PQ4 is the same as the LHW0050PQ0. You would not need to replace the hose clamps when changing the pump. Read More...
Bman October 01, 2014 for Model Number LHW0050PQ4 Hi I have a question about the connectors on a Whirlpool washer LHW0050PQ4 that connect into the Drain Pump 8182415. I am installing a replacement pump. I want to know if each connector needs to be inserted into a specific terminal on the pump. The pump terminals are labelled L and N, but the connectors are identical (tan). How do I know which connector goes in which terminal? Thanks for the help.
1 Answer Hello Bman, The drain pump motor is not polarized and since it is an ac motor, the motor will not know the difference if hooked up backwards. The wires can connect to either connection. Read More...
Steve M December 28, 2012 for Model Number whirlpool frontload washer - I20v - no model number The water pump does not seem to be working. It makes a grating noise when it runs. I took it out and found that the impellar was loose, flopping around inside. I re-attached it, re-assembled it, re-installed it but it still makes a grating noise and doesn't seem to pump very well. I took it out and tested it, it seems to run, the impellar spins when I power the pump, although it does seem weak. I don't want to buy a pump I don't need but I still suspect it's not working right. Last time I ran the machine it pumped for several minutes before stopping and when I removed the pump water poured out of the drain hose -- about 1 gallon, doesn't seem right. The pump label says: Plaset 66114
1 Answer Hello Steve, The drain pump will extract most of the water but there will still be water left in the pump and drain lines. If the pump is making a grating noise then it is on its way out and eventually will need to be replaced. Read More...
Julie October 24, 2012 for Model Number Whirl pool front loader My front loader washer does not drain when it gets to spin mode. Then the yellow light flashes on spin and done. If you hold the hose low to the ground it will drain some what. I was thinking it might be some kind of sensor. Do I need to replace the water pump or could this be something else?
1 Answer Hello Julie, The first thing I would check is the drain pump to make sure it is not clogged. We will need your model number to help you with this. Please post your model number with a new question on the parts page. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx Read More...
1 Answer Hello Manny. 1. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 2. Turn off the water supply to the washer. 3. Remove the top cover from the washer. 4. Position the washer so that you can access the rear panel. 5. Remove the ten T-20 Torx screws from the rear panel and remove the panel from the washer. 6. Tilt the washer forward so you can access the bottom of the washer. 7. Remove the two 10 mm hex-head screws from the drain pump, and then lower the washer. 8. Disconnect the two wire connectors from the drain pump motor terminals. 9. Loosen the two clamps on the inlet and outlet hoses of the drain pump, and pull the hoses off the pump WP8182415.
