Matt June 20, 2014 for Model Number Maytag A180 Tub is unbalanced and leaning towards the front right. Due to this, the spin cycle is constantly stopping. Will the spring kit and damper kit help solve the problem? Is one spring kit enough to replace all the springs? Also, what is the difference between the spring kit and roller kit? Thanks
1 Answer Matt, You're parts are a little bit off, there is no spring kit for the tub support for this style washer, you probably won't need them anyway. You will want to check and make sure the washer is level and as close to the floor as possible, then remove the front panel and check the base of the washer. Look for the polyester damper pads 203956 to be sticking out from under the damper 203725 and gray colored powder spread about the base. this will indicate a worn out damper and damper pads, and they will need to be replaced. The spring kit 202718 and roller kit 205000 are associated with the motor. these are the parts that maintain the tension on the belts and keeps the motor in proper location for the proper drive. The motor carriage has to move freely and the rollers and carriage need to be cleaned and lubricated or replaced if worn or broken. Read More...
Dan Sunday January 20, 2013 for Model Number law9400aaw Is there any way to adjust the belt tension ? I can squeeze the pump belt and the sides touch very easily. I also noticed one spring missing on the motor slide base. Clothes have a lot of water in them yet after spin cycle, do you think these parts are my only problem?
1 Answer Hello Dan, There is no tension adjustment on unit. If one of the springs is missing then you would want to get spring kit 202718 and install. This will help with the tensioning of the belt. Read More...
