Tom May 20, 2022 for Model Number KEHC309JSS4 When I open the microwave door it catches on the vent at the bottom. The bottom of the microwave seems loose. Do I need to replace the torsion spring? Do the torsion springs keep the bottom stiff?
1 Answer Hello Tom, the springs only balance the weight of the door, it is the door hinges that control the amount of travel on the door. If the hinges are worn or bent they will allow the door to open further than it should. Read More...

Nels L January 03, 2017 for Model Number KEMC307KSS02 I have KitchenAid SS 30" Oven and Microwave. The torsion spring snapped. How do I know if I need a left or right hand or both without taking the door apart? Are the left and right hand different shapes?

Mark May 03, 2015 for Model Number gmc305pdq6 I see that two other people (George K. and Anwar K.) have apparently run into the same issue that I have based on their question, but I'm still not clear on the part I should order. I have a Whirlpool model GMC305PDQ6 combo oven/microwave (white). Both torsion springs for the microwave door are broken. I ordered part # 4451009 (right side) and part # 4451008 for the left side, as the web page for the right hand part says "For black, white and biscuit models. Right hand side. For the left hand side order 4451008." However, the parts are identical. The right side spring is correct but the left side is not - it should be the reverse orientation. To further confuse things, when I check the using the Appliance Compatibility Tool it says that 4451009 is compatible but says that 4451008 is not. When I look at the parts diagram for my model, it only shows one torsion spring - but mine definitely has two springs, and they are definitely opposite orientations. So what part # do you recommend I order to replace the left hand torsion spring? Thanks!
1 Answer Mark, based on the model number given the replacement LH spring is part number WP4451008 and RH spring is part number WP4451009. We have removed the incorrect images of the LH spring from our site. Sorry for the confusion and thank you for your inquiry. Read More...
Tom April 12, 2015 for Model Number KEMC308KSS01 I have a stainless model but the torsion bars for model # KEMC308KSS01 are 4951009 and 4451008, which your website does not recommend for stainless due to the weight. The recommended bars 4452395 and 4452396 are not compatible with KEMC308KSS01 according to your website. Which bars do I need?

1 Answer Brian, Were it me, I would reccomend you order the torsion springs for the stainless steel door panel.
