Herb August 05, 2020 for Model Number MCG8000AWW My dryer is a gas dryer. You answered my question about the location of the thermal fuse but it was not clear. A picture would have help. Also the video on the thermal fuse say cycling thermostat replacement. What's the difference between thermal fuse and cycling thermostat? I suspect the thermal fuse is bad because the gas burner will come on when the dryer has been turn off for a while. But after a few minutes the gas burner stop working.
1 Answer Herb, The thermal fuse is a one time blow on high temperature and it does not reset. The cycling and the hi-limit thermostats open at a particular temperature and then close back at the other set temperature. From the description, it is not a thermal fuse issue. It sounds like a possible coil that is heating up and opening until it cools off. Read More...
Herb August 01, 2020 for Model Number MCG8000AWW Were exactly is the thermal fuse located and whats the best way to get access to it? MY DRYER HAS THE UPPER steam cabinet.
1 Answer Herb, the thermal fuse WP53-1182 is located under the drum in the back of the dryer. It can be accessed by unplugging the power cord, then removing the four screws behind the user panel. Once the user panel is removed, there will be five screws securing the dryer front panel that would need to be taken out. The front panel will then rotate forward, the wire connections will need to be disconnected, and then the panel will lift up and out. The dryer belt would need to be removed from the tension pulley under the drum and there will be a screw at the plastic water tank housing that will need to be unscrewed to remove the drum. 1 Answer Hello Bob. You will use the one with the pink dot on it for the electric dryer. Also install the high limit in the kit. You will not use the yellow dot. It is for gas. Thank you. Read More...
Jeremy July 17, 2014 for Model Number LDGA100BAE Blower wheel replaced many years ago, heard the rumbling.. recently it started up again, we let it go for a bit cause money was tight. now in addition to the rumbling there is a constant squeeking noise. I order and replaced the blower wheel. all belts still seem tight, cycle dries normally but its squeaky throughout the entire cycle. I could use a part and a guide to replace.. Thanks much..
1 Answer Hello Jeremy. Squeaks are usually from bad rollers WP31001096. You need to check them and see if they are tight or bad. If so, it is best to replace the support WP53-0197 when you replace the rollers. Read More...
Terry October 30, 2013 for Model Number ADE7000AYW I have recently purchased this for my model and it shows to be a direct replacement. my original part goes mounts to a specific bracket and I'm not seeing how this would work in place of the original part. Please advise of any installation requirements or changes in the wiring that may be necessary for this to work my appliance.
1 Answer Hello Terry. You must remove the bracket from the side of the heater housing to replace the thermal fuse WP53-1182. It goes behind the bracket. Read More...
Jay October 30, 2013 for Model Number YE20FN3 My dryer wont turn on the timer is running but nothing else. The breaker is fine. What should I check?
1 Answer Hello Jay. You need to test the thermal fuse and the door switch on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Don K. August 01, 2012 for Model Number PYG2300AWW Why does one fuse cost the same as the whole kit! This one fuse keeps going out and I think the cost is to high.
1 Answer Hello Don. Because the manufacture suggest you replace both the thermostat and fuse in the kit LA-1053 and not just the thermal fuse. Read More...
Brian F. July 26, 2012 for Model Number ade7000ayw I just replaced the thermal fuse (p/n AP4056527) on my dryer. Less than three days later it is bad again. The vent hose is not blocked, vent wheel is not spinning on motor shaft and verified that it is the correct fuse. Why is it blowing fuses. I have a new fuse on order. Thanks. 1 Answer Hello Brian, I certainly don't want to make you mad, but the thermal fuse is opened by temperature. Nothing else will open it. This is a clear indication that somehow there is too much heat being held inside the unit. If you have flexible ducting, there could be a crimp when the unit is pushed back to the wall. Remember if the duct is in excess of the equivalent of 25 feet long, (each 90° angle is the equivalent to 6 feet of straight ducting), the unit will blow the heat, lint, and moisture past the felt drum seals back into the cabinet with the thermal fuse, thermal cutout, and thermostats. Everything you don't want heat, lint, and moisture on will get heat, lint, and moisture on it. Another possibility is if your laundry room has a door, it may not be getting enough air intake. This decreases the air flow just like restricting the exhaust will decrease it. If this is the case, you either need a louvered door, or simply leave the door open. In either case, the issue has to be air flow because, as previously stated, the thermal fuse is opened thermally which means it is getting too hot. Read More...
