Michael November 24, 2014 for Model Number maytag model # LAW9304AAE When frist starting the machine in small, med., or large load capacity water doesn't want to come in the tub. If you fill tub by hand and set the machine to run in the level of water you have in the tub, it will run through the washing cycle including the rinse cycle. What do I have to do or replace to get the initial water to come in?
1 Answer Hello Michael. Check and see when empty if the pressure switch is closing to send power to the valve. If not, then replace the pressure switch on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
1 Answer Hello Edison, All pressure switches are adjustable, but you have to have a special machine which they use on the assembly line to properly calibrate them. Be aware that even the repair technicians are not ever supposed to adjust a pressure switch. Once the screw on the pressure switch has been turned, it should be discarded and replaced. If you notice, the adjustment screw has a spot of paint on it to prevent the normal vibration of the machine from changing the calibration. So, in short, no, the pressure switch is not adjustable.
