Charlie September 15, 2011 for Model Number MDE8600AYE I have checked for continuity in the thermalfuse, thermostat, and heating element. They show to be good. I also took the complete heating assembly to the parts store where I order parts, and they were kind enough to check them for me too. They said they were ok. could my problem be in my heat control switch? The guy at the parts store said it could be in my timer? But, he was only guessing. Can you Please!..help??? The dryer is about 5 years old, but looks new. it was given to me by my son; because he didn't have time to work on it. Every thing seems to work..except..It will not heat. Thanks!...for any help or advice. Charlie
1 Answer Hello Charlie. You will need to test and see where your loosing power at. Start at the heater and unplug the wires going to the heater. Locate the one that is dead and trace it to find out where you are loosing power at. Be careful here as you are dealing with live voltage. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
