Dan March 06, 2021 for Model Number 596.52673200 My Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator water/ice dispenser is acting up. It acts like it has a loose wire. The light that shows water or ice selection comes on and off with the door fully closed. I assume that it's the door light switch. It is a 3 prong switch with the following stamped on it. EMB 604 50E3 u 2.5/250 5A-125 VAC 2.5A-250VAC C NO NC I held the switch completely depressed and the issue persisted. Any ideas and if it's the switch, what replacement part will work?
1 Answer Dan, The issue described could be a door switch, wiring, or even a board. You would need to check the switch with a meter to determine if it is functioning properly or not. W11396033 https://www.appliancepartspros.com/whirlpool-switch-rocker-arm-w11396033-ap6973145.html Read More...

John J. July 11, 2015 for Model Number ARS266ZBC I need to replace the refrigerator side light switch. The picture appears to show the prongs coming out of the side. Does the switch assembly just pull straight out of the wall, or is there a trick to get it out? Mine comes out about half way then seems to be catching, on the prongs I assume. I don't want to do any more damage trying to repair it. Thanks
1 Answer Hello John, This is not a usual condition. You will need to turn the power off to the unit at the breaker box and remove the wall outlet to access the issue. The receptacle TJ611125 will most likely require replacement. Read More...
