Tony December 31, 2012 for Model Number a5125 I have a suds saver feature on this washer. The washer works fine, except that the suds saver will pump the water out but will not pump the water back into the machine. Using you other chat line, the techinican thought that it was the pressure switch located behind the control panel. Is this switch only associated with the suds saver feature. Because I thought the problem would be in the suds saver solenoid or the suds saver valve. Do you have any suggestions as to how I might isolate the problem. Thanks
1 Answer Tony, You're on track, First check and make sure there are no cracks or loose fittings on the return hoses, and the hose is deep enough into the tank, any air that enters the return system, will keep the syatme from working properly. The next check is at the diverter valve itself, you'll need to remove the arm asembly 204316 and make sure the arm and flapper haven't broken off or twisted on the shaft. Read More...
Vincent R. August 20, 2012 for Model Number A512 After selecting the water level and starting the wash cycle, the water does not stop even though the level is reached (15 minutes or so). I have to turn the knob to the next cycle to start the washing. What part do I need to replace?
1 Answer Hello Vincent, Here's what I need you to do. Start the machine and let it begin filling with water. Unplug the unit and if it stops filling, replace the pressure switch WP22206223. If it doesn't stop filling, replace the water inlet valve 205613. Read More...
Michael May 25, 2012 for Model Number maytag la512 We had an overflow situation today. I noticed the water would not stop filling even when I unplugged the machine, turned the dial or anything else. I had to shut off the water supply. What part would I need? Also, if possible, please explain how this machine even knows when to stop filling so I may understand this situation more. I dont want to start buying parts that may not be the solution.
1 Answer Hello Michael! There is a water level switch on the unit that has a hose that runs from the tub to the switch, this detects the amount of water that enters the tub. The more water that enters the tub, the more pressure there is in the hose. Once the washer reaches the desired water level the water level switch will send a signal to the water valve to shut off. When an overfill situation occurs and you unplug the unit and the washer continues to fill, that is an indicator that the water inlet valve is defective and needs to be replaced. If the unit were to stop filling with water you would then check the hose from the tub to the switch to make sure it didn't kink or clogged and replace the water level switch. The part number for the water inlet valve needed for your unit is 205613. I hope this information helps you. Thanks! Read More...
