This water level pressure switch senses the tub's water level and tells the control when to stop filling and move to the next stage, helping prevent overfilling and ensuring consistent wash, rinse, and spin performance.

  • Monitors air pressure from the tub's air dome to determine water level
  • Signals the control/timer to open/close inlet valves and advance the cycle
  • Enables agitation and spin only after the target level is reached
  • Common failure symptoms: incorrect fill levels, won't advance from fill, pauses mid-cycle, or repeated fill/drain behavior
What's included: 1 water level pressure switch Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing; shut off water supply as a precaution
  • Access the switch in the console/top area (location varies by model)
  • Move the pressure hose and wire connector(s) to the new switch; secure all connections air-tight
  • Inspect the pressure hose for kinks, clogs, or cracks and clear/replace if needed to avoid repeat issues

Vanessa, 1. water continues filling. start the washer, while it's filling unplug the power cord. If the washer continues to fill, replace the fill valve 285805. If the water stops, you'll need to replace the water level switch and air tube W10339228. 2. The washer should fill and agitate with the lid open, but won't spin or drain unless the lid is closed. Did you notice if there were any loose or damaged wires at the timer, when you checked the pressure switch ? You'll want to check the drain pump and make sure it is not clogged with a small article or the impeller bearing/pulley is not seized. Then test the motor windings with a meter (terminal 1 to5 and terminal 3 to 4 should have a "closed" circuit or resistance when tested. If the circuits are closed replace the timer WP8546681 if one of the circuits is "open" replace the motor WP661600.
