Dwight M July 21, 2014 for Model Number acq214xdo My air conditioner cools nicely but does not shut off automatically anymore. I am assuming that this must mean the thermostat is not working? I can still manually shut it off. Thank you
1 Answer Dwight, Yes the issue with the unit not shutting off automatically will either be caused by a faulty thermostat or coils that need to be cleaned. Read More...
James December 09, 2011 for Model Number Acm184xHo This unit is heat and cool. When I turn it on the air blows without compressor comming on. Also the heat does not come on at all.
1 Answer Hi James. Are you getting proper 240 vac at the wall outlet ? Is the breaker tripped ? If you verify the voltage being correct keep the unit un plugged and pull off the 2 - wires on the thermostat and simply connect them together , momentarily bypassing the thermostat. Use electrical tape on the connection as you isolate it from shorting or not safe. Did the compressor start then ? Use a volt meter to see if the 120 vac is at the wires just jumped and feeding the compressor. If so then you need a new thermostat part # WP1160325. Test the heat circuit first to see if the heat strips work. If so then stop the unit with the selector switch and wait for the blower wheel to stop rotation before you switch into the A/C mode. Make sure the filter is clean so you will get proper performance. Thank You. ]. Read More...
Billy Bob July 09, 2011 for Model Number AR1800XA1 My A/C will freeze up at times, and at other times the compressor won't start. What could cause this, would it be the temperature control or low on freon ?
1 Answer BillyBob, Provided the unit is installed properly, the filter is not restricted or dirty, and you did not have the unit in storage or sitting on it's side or back, Your problem would be in the temperature control. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
