Brian December 05, 2013 for Model Number Kitchenaid Wine Cooler I ordered the AP3083611 thermostat kit for my Kitchenaid wine cooler and it's scheduled to be delivered today. I've read in the Q&A section that black goes on terminal 3 and blue on terminal. I have two wire sets that are black. I want to find out on which terminal of the new thermostat the second set of black wires goes on.
1 Answer Hello Brian. We will need your model number to help you with this. Please post your model number with a new question on the parts page. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx Read More...
Susjan June 08, 2013 for Model Number Kuws246elbo. KA wine Cooler I need help with the installation. I'm not sure how to install the pigtail of this thermostat. Do I have to remove the shelves to access the panel inside the fridge or does the pigtail install through the insulation in the back? Couldn't find the instructions and I feel rather stupid right now. Thanks.
1 Answer Susjan, To install the pigtail of the thermostat you will need to remove the shelving inside and remove the screws holding the evaporator in place. The screws on the evaporator have spacers that keeps it off the wall but the bulb will be behind the evaporator. Read More...
John M February 22, 2013 for Model Number KUWS264ELB0 I received and installed the thermostat I ordered from you. Now I have a couple of new issues. 1 - the fan and compressor started as soon as I plugged the unit in. However, I had the on/off switch in the "OFF" position. Is this normal? 2 - the interior light stays on all the time, even if I depress the control button with my finger. I connected the thermostat wires as follows: Blue wire to pin 4 and black wire to pin 3. Any ideas on what may be causing these issues?
1 Answer Hello John. You need to check and make sure no wires are touching metal and that the unit is wired properly. Read More...
Jesse February 19, 2013 for Model Number KUWA244PBSO I have replaced the thermostat on my wine cellar 3 times, the most recent was on 10/10/12 just four months ago and it just went out again. Not only did it go out but the wine cellar runs too cold. I can't get the temperature higher than 52° at the lowest setting. Very frustrating. I read somewhere that there is another thermostat that can be used in lieu of the specified one that will run the wine cellar at a higher temperature. Very frustrating considering the wine cellar was almost $2k. KitchenAid model # KUWA244PBS00. Need help!
1 Answer Hello Jessie, I'm sorry but there is no satisfactory substitution for the current thermostat WP4344659. Read More...
John February 16, 2013 for Model Number KUWS246ELBO This a Kitchenaid Wine Cooler. It stopped cooling recently. Good voltage coming in and the interior light works. The compressor makes no attempt to start (no humming, no noise at all), and the fan makes no attempt to start. I suspect the thermostat has failed. Do you agree or should I check anything else? Thanks, John
1 Answer Hello John, If the compressor is not getting power then you would want to replace the thermostat kit WP4344659. Read More...
Randy May 31, 2012 for Model Number KUWS246ESS2 When I would tap on the right side of the metal bracket where he control switch is mounted - the cooler would kick on and run. Would this be a malfunction in the relay or the broken thermostat line that I found aprox 6 inches from the end.
1 Answer Hello Randy. Based on the information you provided, the thermostat KIT WP4344659 is the issue with the unit and will need to be replaced. Read More...
Randy May 31, 2012 for Model Number KUWS246ESS2 I purchased a thermostat kit today. Mine was not working correctly because the thermostat was broke aprox 6 inches from the curled end - I thing it was due to a melfunction and a build up of ice causing it to get weak and brittle. My question is this - when installing the new kit does the black wire go on post 3 or 4 leaving the blue wire for the remaining post. I have not received the kit yet - I am sure there are instructions attached
