Tim January 07, 2016 for Model Number kuwh246ewh Bought part 4344659 (whirlpool) replacement thermostat for kitchenaid wine cooler. Understand all but wiring connection. Have two-wire and one-wire connection on old control. New control is slightly different terminal configuration than old one. No indication of which wires go to which terminals. Does it matter and how can I know?
1 Answer Hello Tim. Being a closed circuit, it does not matter which wire goes where on the thermostat. Read More...
Virginia November 13, 2015 What causes my 2011 50 bottle GE Monogram wine cooler to form ice in the back and on the left side back of the wine cooler? It runs constantly. I unplug it, take all ice out, wipe the inside dry and when plugged in again, it will ice up exactly in the back and left side again. The thermostat is set at 4, with 1 being the coldest. Do I need a new thermostat or what? I thought 65 degrees was the highest it could be, then how can ice form? Thank You for your help.
1 Answer Hello Virginia. It sounds like the sealed system has developed a restriction and you will need an HVAC tech to come out and repair the unit. Read More...

Doreen December 22, 2014 for Model Number kuws246ebl2 I have a kitchen aid wine cooler, but it is not keeping cold. The light is on and the motor is running, and there is some condensation on the back of the unit. Do I need a new thermostat or a new compressor? Please let me know. Thank you, Doreen
1 Answer Hello Doreen. Check and see if the compressor is running on the unit. If not, and there is power to it, then the compressor is bad. You can test for power out of the thermostat to see if it is good or bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

1 Answer Bill, Unfortunately there is not a video or written instructions on how to replace the thermostat on the unit. To install the part, you will need to remove all of the shelving in the unit and remove the screws out of the evaporator. On the back side of the evaporator there will be a clip holding the thermostat tube. You will need to remove this and then go to the back of the unit and pull the thermostat bulb out. You will then move to the front of the unit and remove the knob and the lower cover of the unit. Remove the screws holding the thermostat in place and disconnect the wires and transfer them to the new thermostat. Once this is done you will pull the old thermostat out and guide the new thermostat bulb to the back of the unit. Once this is done mount the thermostat and reinstall the bulb into the cabinet and reattach and reassemble the unit. Read More...
Art N December 11, 2013 for Model Number KUWS246EWH2 My wine cooler seems to be running properly, but I can't raise the temperature with the thermostat control all the way counterclockwise for warmer temps. The upper level is at 48 F which is too cool for red wines. Manual says 45 at lower level and 60 at upper level. Is the thermostat the problem? Unit purchased in Feb. 2001.
1 Answer Hello Art. Yes, based on the information you provided, it sounds like the thermostat is bad in the unit. Read More...
Brian December 05, 2013 for Model Number KUWS246ESS I ordered the AP3083611 replacement thermostat kit for my KitchenAid (KUWS246ESS) wine cooler. I've read in the Q&A section that the black wire goes on terminal 3 and the blue wire on terminal 4. However, I also have a second black harness with two wires, one wire going to the light on/off switch and the other wire to the back of the unit. Which terminal on the new thermostat does this second black wire go on. I'm assuming the wire harness with one black wire goes to terminal 3 and the one blue wire goes to terminal.
