  • Switches power between the compressor and defrost heater
  • Helps maintain airflow and consistent cooling by clearing accumulated frost
  • Common failure symptoms: heavy frost on coils or freezer walls, warm fresh food section, unit stuck in defrost, or a timer that won't advance
What's included: 1 defrost timer Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing; use gloves to protect from sharp edges
  • Access the timer (typically in the control housing or rear service area) and remove mounting screws
  • Note wire positions or take a photo; transfer wires to the new timer one at a time
  • Mount securely and restore power; monitor for normal compressor/defrost operation

William for Model Number AGD4475TQ1

Hello I have an Admiral AGD4475TQ1 gas dryer. It does not start when I press the start button. I have tested for input voltage from the wall plug (OK) and, also found 120 volts on the blue wire and orange wire of the timer (part W10185971 E) to ground. I have tested the start switch and door switch which show continuity when pressed. I have test the thermal fuse for continuity, the thermostat, the high limit thermostat, and thermal cut off switch; they all test good. I tested from the red wire (A) to the white wire with black stripe (F), and found no voltage. Is the Invensys (W10185971 E) Timer bad? Frustrated

Brian, You will want to test the motor to see if there is 120 vac getting to it when the start button is pushed. If there is proper power then the motor will be the issue. If not then the timer would be the issue.

Hello Mohammad. There is a locking tab you must release to unplug that wire connector. Use a flat blade screwdriver to raise and release it.
