Janell November 19, 2013 for Model Number 110.69822801 On our Kenmore Dyer when you set the timer then press the start button nothing happens until you press down/in on the timer knob. This has been getting worse and now you can not set the timer on any timer higher than 30 mins., press the start button and press down the timer knob then it engages. Dryer still drys great. We did take the panel off to make sure we did not see any loose wire or obvious burn wires or circuit boards. I spoke to James with Appliance Pro and placed an order for the timer part # AP4373420 . James said he had never hear of this problem only problems with having to hold down the START button. I had google search my problem prior to ordering the part and could only come up with the problem with having to hold down the start button as well. James felt that it must be the timer and suggested that I order the timer which I did . James suggested that I ask the question online to get a service pros option and see if you would agree that it would be the timer that needs to be replaces. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Janell. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the timer is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. It is not common, but does happen that the contacts become damaged and only pressing a certain way turns the unit on. Timer replacement should repair the unit. Read More...
Phil November 13, 2012 for Model Number 110.79822801 I was trying to test on this timer but the tech sheet was not exactly simple to comprehend. Before they used to say just test continuity through terminal a and b for example now the sheet says timer-bk and they list the different terminals weather it is closed or open. Do they mean the black wire coming off the timer and the other terminals? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Phil, When they are saying to check from BK - Black to each terminal, you would check each terminal that they suggest to check with one lead and the other to the black lead. Read More...
