Sara September 09, 2014 for Model Number 110.70172001 There is no power to the dryer, but I can hear the little motor humming (non-stop until unplugged) in the coin op box. Would you agree that this part will do the trick? I am also wondering if it is necessary to buy the whole mechanism or if the motor can be purchased and replaced. Many thanks! Sara
1 Answer Sara, With the timer motor running but the unit in the off position then this issue would be in the timer which would need to be replaced. Timer part number is 279737. Read More...
Jake October 06, 2012 for Model Number CSP2760TQ2 Stack unit. Timers keep going out. Can here them running but not advancing. Owner has had replaced timers twice already. I found that the units weren't vented properly and were clogged but not sure if thet could cause timer motors to burn out on this style. Please help! Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Jake, The exhaust duct being clogged will contribute to the timer failure. You see, heat is electrical and electronic components number one enemy. One thing that I would definitely check is the power supplied at the receptacle. The transformer on the pole can be out of calibration and if too much or too little voltage is supplied, it will cause issues. With too little voltage, excessive current flow will exist, causing premature failures. With too much voltage available, insufficient current will exist, also wreaking havoc on the electrical circuit. I would check this before checking the appliance itself to avoid un-necessicary parts purchases. Read More...
Terry May 24, 2012 for Model Number 11066071690 have replaced timer/motor and temp switch, still have unit runs some and will not start again brn wire from tim to temp swt is 50 volts causes motor to throw overload all wires look ok and spades look ok/tight?
1 Answer Terry, Apparently you have a voltage supply issue. Most likely a loose connection, or wiring issue to the dryer. We sent you a basic wiring diagram, so you can visualize and track the voltage through the dryer circuits and switches. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
Terry May 19, 2012 for Model Number 11066071690 timer sends 58 volts to temp switch and to motor; why
1 Answer Terry, This is a "normal" operation. When the coin slide moves in and the timer cam moves, it closes the circuit on timer switch "A" . When the switch circuit closes, and feeds 120 VAC to both the temperature selector switch, to the "SW" and "AH1" terminals to control the temperature, Hi, Med, Lo. It also supplies "L1" voltage to the motor thermal fuse and motor. The question would be why only 58 VAC ? are you sure you have 220-240 volts to the dryer, and 120 VAC on the yellow wire terminal on the timer switch "A" ? If you have 120 VAC on the yellow wire terminal and 58 VAC on the other wire out of the timer, You'd have a bad timer switch,a nd will need the timer 279737 . If you have 58 VAC to the timer switch, then you have a loose connection, damaged wire, or improper power supply issue. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
Chuck January 28, 2012 for Model Number CG2951XYW4 What will cause the timer to keep running, Even after it ran through a cycle it will still keep running.
1 Answer Hi Chuck. Yes, If the timer contacts are shorted internally, it will keep the timer running. The power starts from there. Part # 279737. Thank You. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Mary, you will have to purchase a new timer wheel for the current timer. You will have to locate one at your local commercial part dealer. Thanks Read More...
