Hello Ray, thank you for contacting APP, There are 2 different setups for this timer. If your unit has Black, Pink, Red, and Orange wires to it then the timer motor lead(black wire) on the timer goes over the #2 terminal. If your unit has Orange, Pink, Red, and White wires to it then the motor lead goes over the #1 terminal.

Todd, unfortunately, the model number provided would utilize a main control W10890094 for the defrost function. As this is the case, a defrost timer would not be compatible with your appliance.

Daryl, the black wire of the defrost timer W10822278 would need to be connected to terminal 1 for the model provided. The wire being placed as a ground wire can potentially cause operational error.
