Hello Amish, and thank you for your post. The black wire would be placed dependent on if there is a white wire that goes to the defrost timer W10822278 or not. If there is a white wire going to the defrost timer, place the black wire at terminal 1. If there is not a white wire, place the black wire at terminal 2.

To determine where the timer motor lead should be connected, what color are the wires plugged into the timer? 1.-Black 2.-Pink 3.-Red 4.-Orange The timer motor lead would go over the #2 terminal. 1.-Orange 2.-Pink 3.-White 4.-Red The timer motor lead would go over the #1 terminal.
