Robb September 17, 2019 for Model Number RT18AKXJW01 im replacing my defrost timer. the timer isn't held in by screws but instead by 2 white plastic stems with 2 flat brass looking pieces pushed down onto the white stems and holding the timer in place. I have no idea how to get the timer off or put the new one on if I can? there are no mounting screws!!!!
1 Answer Hello Rob, the parts index shows the defrost timer in the control housing that is on the fresh food ceiling, it shows 2 screws from the underside holding the defrost timer in place. That being said what you are describing sounds like speed nuts on plastic stems if that is the case then carefully pry off the speed nuts as they will be reused. Read More...
