You can move the timer to the spin cycle and it will start to spin. I think that the timer will have to be replaced. What do you think? We have had the washer since 6-26-02.

Rich August 23, 2012 for Model Number Maytag MAV7258AWW The washer is skipping the spin cycles and leaving the water in the machine. You can manually turn the timer back around to the spin cycle and then it will spin out the water. Do you think this is a bad timer?
