Donald B January 07, 2014 for Model Number MAV6458AW I received the new timer (2004189) I ordered and there was no disassembly instructions. This is for a Maytag MAV6458AW. It appears to just pull off. I need to know if the knob just pulls off or not? I have pulled on if but I do not wish to break it.
1 Answer Hello Donald. No, pry out the center cap of the timer knob. Then the knob and skirt should pull off the shaft one the center is removed from the knob. Thanks. Read More...
Kato September 03, 2012 for Model Number MAV6451AWW At the end of the washing cycle the water drains out and when its time to spin it sits there and make a humming noise, it does not start to spin unless I spin in manually, then sometimes it will pick up spinning automatically. Is it the timer? Please help.
1 Answer Kato, Yes, you should probably start at the timer, based on your description, one of the contacts copuld be faulty, and causing the motor to hum, and not spin. intermittently. Since the washer fills and agitates, it's not likely the motor. Thanks Read More...
