Kyle April 23, 2012 for Model Number medb850wq0 Dryer has power, but minute display shows nothing and will not start. Turned breaker off for 5 minutes to let reset, but nothing. All other lights and settings are working correctly,(and beepers). Your parts rep said maybe the electronic control panel ?
1 Answer Hi Kyle. I would use the digital capacitor Tester / Volt/ohm meter part # MA-DM1 to assist you in repair. Follow the supplied wiring diagram to see if the power input to the Main electronic control board part # WPW10111620 is good. Use the supplied tech. sheet to put the unit in a diagnostic mode to get the fault codes to come up. Look at the main board to see if it has burnt spots on the board. The P-2 connections 1 and 3 are the voltage check points. The user interface part # is WPW10336131. The diagnostic sheet will explain the test mode entering process. Make sure the door switch is OK. You may bypass the door switch per wiring diagram just for a quick test to see if this was the issue. The white w/ blue and the blue w/ blue wire. Thank You. Read More...

Pat K August 25, 2011 for Model Number Maytag Dryer Model MGDB850WQ0 Electronics aren't working right. Will only set for 3 minutes and sometimes it will run longer. Others don't light up anymore so we can't get the settings to work.
1 Answer Pat, here's how to enter the diagnostic test mode and check the user interface buttons and display : 1. Be sure the dryer is in standby mode (plugged in with all indicators off, or with only the Clothes Dry indicator on). 2. Select any one button (except Power/Cancel) and follow the steps below, using the same button (remember the button): press/hold 2–5 seconds, Release for 2–5 seconds, Press/hold 2–5 seconds, Release for 2–5 seconds, Press/hold 2–5 seconds 3. If this test mode has been entered successfully, all indicators on the console are illuminated for 5 seconds with 8:88 showing in the Estimated Time Remaining three-digit display. If there are no saved fault codes or active fault codes, all indicators on the console will momentarily turn off, then stay on with 8:88 displayed. Continue with diagnostics. 4. If entry into Diagnostic Test Mode is unsuccessful, choose a different button (except Power/Cancel) and repeat step 2. DIAGNOSTIC: Console Buttons and Indicators Pressing buttons and rotating the cycle selector will turn off the corresponding indicator and sound a beep as shown in figure 1. Pressing Time Adjust (+) will toggle the left digit and colon on the display while sounding a beep.essing Time Adjust (–) will toggle the right two digits on the display and the status indicators while sounding a beep. Pressing the End Signal button will activate the Line Voltage Test. If indicators fail to come on and beep after pressing buttons and rotating the cycle selector. Perform steps in Accessing & Removing the Electronic Assemblies, and visually check that the P5 connector is inserted all the way into the machine control electronics. Visually check that the user interface assembly is properly inserted into the front console. If both visual checks pass, replace the user interface assembly. Plug in dryer or reconnect power.Perform the Console Buttons and Indicators Diagnostic test. If indicators still do not light, the machine control electronics has failed. rotating the cycle selector Pressing the End Signal button will activate the Line Voltage Test. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
