1 Answer Hello Shawn, You can test a water valve and it test perfectly electrically and still be bad. The only way to test one accurately is to apply water pressure and 120 volts and see if it passes water. Since the water valve body is plastic, it can be warped and even though the coil is perfect, it cannot open with the valve binding. Leigh August 30, 2012 for Model Number Whirlpool Duet GHW9150PWO I just replaced the water inlet valve (part number AP3128776). The white connectors went to cold, the black to hot. Does it matter which side of the cold side (black side) the white connectors (black connectors) go to? After I ran a load of laundry, I opened the dispenser drawer. Only the detergent had been dispensed, the fabric softener & bleach were just as full as they were before the wash started. Is this a defective valve? Thank you.
1 Answer Leigh, It's not likely you have a faulty fill valve WP8181694 but anything is possible. You do however have to make sure the wiring on the solenoids is correct, or the valve won't operate properly. You may need trace the wiring back to the CCU (control board) and check the VCH7 connector(4 wires) and make sure you have the proper wire on the proper solenoid. Wire #1 should be on one terminal of the cold water solenoid and wire #3 should be on the other terminal of the cold water solenoid. Wire #5 should be on the terminal in the same location as wire#3, but on the hot water solenoid. Wire #7 Should be on the hot water solenoid, in the same location as wire #1 on the cold solenoid. Carol May 17, 2012 for Model Number WFW8300SW04 I was recieving error codes F33 and F21, the last few days this happend a lot. It would also not drain at all and water would poor out the front door when opened. then yesterday the washer stoped working so I replace the pump, now when I turn it on the water will not fill, it spins a few times and stops! is it the inlet valves....? the ccu?? Bryan March 11, 2012 for Model Number Whirlpool GHW9200L I ordered part AP3128776 for my Whirlpool washer. When I went to swap out the new part with the old I noticed that the electrical connections are different. The contact spades on the new solenoids do not match up with the receptacle contacts. Is there an an adapter to mate these with?

Troy February 28, 2012 for Model Number Whirlpool Ghw9150pwo I am having the same FH code problem as Carl above. My inlet hoses seem fine on hot and cold. When I took the air tube off the water level switch the machine filled. When I put it back on I got the FH code again. Does this mean my switch is bad and should be replaced?

The washer still seems to think every load needs to be washed in hot. Any other suggestions? I am putting my original question here too."My washer only fills with hot water in the wash cycle, no matter the setting. The hoses are not switched, and the cold rinse cycle still tries to draw from the cold tap only. If I put the "hot" hose on the cold tap I can run a load in cold water. The cold rinse cycle draws only from the cold hose, so I have to switch the hoses back again. Is this the right part to fix this?"
1 Answer Liketofixitmyself, I wouldn't expect the fill valve to be the issue, until you varify the fill valve solenoid has a resistance reading (500 to 1000 ohms) and you have voltage (120 vac) to the cold solenoid from the control assembly(CCU).
