Jeff A. for Model Number whirlpool ultimate care 2 washing machine

Washer will not fill with water. If I fill the washer with water and move the timer to wash the washer will wash and drain and spin. I can fill it again for the rinse cycle then it will spin fine. The only thing it will not do is fill with water. The timer switch runs once I move it to wash or spin. Once it gets to a cycle that fills with water, it just stops. Are my cylinoids on the intake vavle bad? Could it be the timer switch? I'm leaning towards the intake since the timer at least works on some of the cycles.

Hi Mike. Start the washer on a regular wash cycle. While filling remove the power or un plug the unit. If you can see the basket filling with water still, then this is one quick way to see if you have a bad water valve part # WP8181694. I suspect 2-common items. Make sure at least 4-1/2" and no more of drain hose is in the drain pipe. Then remove the lower panel. Get a dozen towels or a wet vac. ready to pick up a lot of water. Then remove the sump hose going to the pump intake back hose. Make sure it is clear. There is a trap you can unscrew and see if it is clogged. Reach inside the pump and if the impeller is loose spinning freely on the shaft, then you wont get a pressurized full pump out. It is part # 280187. Thank You.

Carl, Yes, the fill valve could be the issue, but. The "FH" code indicates the CCU (control board) is NOT seeing the water level switch circuit change positions WPW10514214 , You may want to disconnect the air tube from the switch and blow into it to see if there may be an obstruction in the tube, etc. and you can check for the washer to fill with the hose off the switch. Thanks and Good Luck

Guest, You've most likely have two issues, A slow cold water fill, and a noisy or defective drain pump. You should check and clean the debris screens in the cold water fill hose and inlet valve. and replace the pump 280187 both components could produce the "FH" code. Thanks and Good Luck
