Cathy January 08, 2022 for Model Number GHW9400PL0 My washer and dryer are on a partially walled, partially screened porch in central Texas, up against the wall of the house. We get a handful of freezing temperatures every winter, so I insulate between the w/d and the wall of the house (plastered, with lots of earthen mass). That has worked fine for 16 years, but last year's winter storm got us down to -1°F, stayed below freezing for over a week, and the inlet valve stopped working. Fair enough, that was asking a lot. I replaced it, but the replacement part broke after only 11 months, and a much lighter freeze (just overnight, around 23°F, which happens every year and hasn't been a problem before). No other hoses or valves had freeze damage, and I don't see any visible cracking on the inlet valve; will freezing temperatures damage the solenoids? Are aftermarket parts just not as robust? (PS: I greatly appreciate your parts, and your very helpful videos; who knew I could do this myself?!! And yes, I'm looking at ways to better winterize the porch :-) )
1 Answer Cathy, if the washer valve reached temperatures lower than 33°F, it is very likely that water froze in the valve and damaged the valve WP8181694. Read More...
John May 19, 2017 for Model Number GHW9150PW1 Washer locks, starts to fill, then throws F11 code. Fill hoses are new; screens on washer are clean. Started diagnostic, C:00 is fine as door locks. C:01...starts to fill, then throws F11 code. I hit cancel, then drain. Have started over with same result. Bad inlet valve, or perhaps something else? Thanks much, John
1 Answer Hello John. Possible Causes / Procedure 1. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 2. Check wire harness connections to the MCU, the motor, and Central Control Unit (CCU). 3. Check the drive system for any worn or failed components. 4. Plug in washer or reconnect power. 5. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic test or any cycle. 6. Check the MCU by looking for operations of the drive motor. 7. Check the drive motor for powered rotations. 8. Check that the serial harness at the MCU is not mounted upside down. The wires should be to the left when facing the MCU connectors. Read More...
Terri March 19, 2017 for Model Number 110.45088400 The washer starts up and then approximately 1 minute into the cycle, both cold or hot, it stops and I get an F/H error code. We removed the water inlet valve to try to clean out the screens, reinstalled it, and the machine worked for about 10 loads and I am once again getting the error code. What do I need to do?
1 Answer Terri, It sounds like this issue will be caused by a faulty water valve on the unit which will be part number WP8181694. Read More...
Nestor C October 17, 2016 for Model Number washer 11042832201 It does not complete cycle, stops and E2 shows on display it does not go to spin cycle, you have to pause/cancel and push start again it continues but it does not go to the spin cycle. Thank you
1 Answer Nestor, This issue would be caused by a long drain. You will want to check the drain pump for clogs in the filter area and check for damage to the impeller of the motor. Check the pressure hose to make sure that the hose is not clogged. If these check ok then the issue will be the main control board. Read More...
Steve A April 16, 2016 for Model Number ghw9400pl4 Got a new inlet valve but the spades are way to far apart for the old connector to work Thought i had wrong part but everything says 8181694 is the right one. Do they sell spade connectors to go back to the small snap in connector from the original? should i just go get some generic spade connectors and snip n put in new spades?
1 Answer Steve, According to the model number of your washer that is listed (GHW9400PL4), the correct water valve for our unit is WP8182862. Read More...
Frank October 16, 2015 Keep getting told the washer has low water pressure, it is probably true because it takes longer than normal to fill. If the hose screens are clear and water flows freely thru the hose, could it be caused by anything other than the fill valves? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Frank, The water inlet valve will be the first suspect but without the model number from the units' I.D. tag, this is just a general diagnosis. Read More...
Rose September 11, 2015 for Model Number GHW9400PWO Where is the screen for the inlet hose? I need to make sure it's clean to troubleshoot for FH code Thank you
1 Answer Rose, There should be two "screens" in each fill hose that need to be checked and cleaned if clogged with sediment. One should be in the end of the fill hose, where it attaches to the faucet 285452A screen washer. When you remove the fill hose from the fill valve, there is a screen located in the inlet opening. Both screens can be carefully removed with a small flat blade screwdriver, cleaned and reinserted into the hose and fill valve. Read More...

Heather June 11, 2015 for Model Number GHW9100LW1 Hi! I'm trying to replace part #8181694. However, the electrical plugs cannot be pulled off. They are not connected together like most other washers. I am not able to pull them off.
1 Answer Hello Heather. The model number you provided uses [AP3128876] for the water valve. The terminals pull off the spades on the unit valve. If they are stuck, you may need to pry them with a straight screwdriver. Read More...
