The prior homeowner said the correct water filter replacement is Amana model 12527304. Is this the correct water filter for our model refrigerator? Also, where do you install the filter? 1 Answer Hello Ed, The filter EDR5RXD1 is below the freezer compartment in the kick panel. It is easiest to remove it if the kick panel is first removed. Turning it about 1/4 turn counterclockwise removes the filter. If the filter housing is operating properly the water does not need to be turned off. If water leaks while the filter is out, the filter housing WP2186443 will need to be replaced.
